Before even graduating from the Washington University School of Medicine, classmates Yang Jae Lee, MD 2021 and Gautum Adusumilli, MD 2021 were already committed to solving some of the most pressing problems in global health equity. Together with Ibrahim Ssekalo, in 2018 they co-founded Empower Through Health (ETH), a nonprofit healthcare organization dedicated to improving access to healthcare for 70,000 people in Eastern Uganda. Today, ETH runs a health center, advances public health measures, and provides fellowship opportunities to students.
