Due to the ongoing violence in Israel and Gaza, please note the following: The university has added Israel, The West Bank, and Gaza to the ITOC Travel Suspension Conditions list.

Required steps
- Read the WashU International Travel Policy for student trips.
- Check to see if there are Travel Suspension Conditions in the area you would like to travel.
- If there are suspension conditions but you’d still like to pursue travel there, you may file a petition for exception for ITOC to grant permission if you are a graduate or professional student.
- Review the list of restricted countries where embargo and sanction programs restrict transactions.
- Review Export Control concerns and policies for international travelers.

- Review your international health insurance coverage.
- Purchase is required for all undergraduate, graduate, and professional students.

- Register with your local embassy.
- U.S. citizens or green card holders can register with local U.S. Embassies through the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP).
- View U.S. Department of State travel warnings.
- Review immunization information.
- Some immunizations require a series of immunizations before achieving immunity. Contact Student Health Services as soon as you know you will be traveling abroad.
- Check travel documents (passports and visas).
- Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months after your planned return. Check the consulate of the country you are visiting to determine whether you need to obtain a visa to enter the country. Visa requirements vary depending on your citizenship, purpose, and duration of your stay in the country.
