Addressing Global Challenges Through International Collaboration in Education and Research
McDonnell International Scholars Academy 6th International Symposium, was cohosted with The University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia.
September 22 – 25, 2016
32 premier partner universities were united in addressing the world’s trending the Symmost critical problems of the 21st century. The Symposium featured discussions on research in particular themes and discussions of how research universities can foster the collaborative efforts required to address complex global challenges.
This is the first Symposium in which most of the current McDonnell Academy scholars participated – 54 scholars in total.
At the Symposium, Academy scholars contributed to meaningful discussions, presented their research in poster sessions, blogged about the Symposium, competed in a Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition in which students were required to explain their research in three minutes, and authored a white paper. Student participation in the Symposium was a highlight for all who attended.
