As one of the world’s premier research universities, we are deeply engaged with international collaboration through global programs and partnerships.
The most commonly utilized agreement is a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which outlines the details for collaboration between one or more institutions. The Vice Chancellor for International Affairs/McDonnell International Scholars Academy provides advice and resources for Washington University faculty who are considering an MOU.
The approval process has been streamlined. The Vice Chancellor for International Affairs/McDonnell International Scholars Academy office also collects signed agreements and ensures:
- No duplicate agreements
- New MOUs are consistent with institutional standards and policies
- MOUs are reviewed, bearing in mind our accreditation requirements, and
- That expiration dates for MOUs are reviewed and/or renewed in a timely manner.
