Socio-economic, educational and health-related inequities and inequalities adversely affect the wellbeing of people and communities in St. Louis, across the US, and worldwide.

Washington University in St. Louis has established a new Social Policy Institute with the mission of bringing together research findings from schools and disciplines across the university to address these pressing and difficult issues.

Headed up by Michal Grinstein-Weiss, the Shanti K. Khinduka Distinguished Professor at the Brown School, the Institute will serve as a hub for the research that faculty, students and university centers are already doing to inform social policy and also will help broker partnerships with business, government, and nonprofits to help translate that research into actionable policy.

“We know we will be stronger in this effort together.”
