The men’s basketball team from Tsinghua University traveled to St. Louis to participate in the Lopata Classic Basketball Tournament at Washington University in St. Louis in the last week of November and first week of December. This is the first appearance of a team from outside the U.S. in a Washington University athletic event, and players from Tsinghua and Washington University spent a very enjoyable week together, practicing and then playing in the tournament. The visit was organized by Professor Frank Yin of Washington University’s Department of Biomedical Engineering and the McDonnell Academy’s ambassador to Tsinghua. In addition to touring Chicago and St. Louis, Washington University hosted the Tsinghua team members at several events on campus.
