Wrighton and Biswas give talks at International Conference on Advances in Energy Research

Mumbai

During the recent climate change conference in Paris that resulted in a deal to cut emissions, India acknowledged its developing role in leading environmental change while also trying to ensure more of its citizens are added to the grid.

Leading the Washington University contingent are Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton and Pratim Biswas, PhD, the Lucy and Stanley Lopata Professor and Chair of the Department of Energy, Environmental and Chemical Engineering at the School of Engineering & Applied Science.

Both Wrighton and Biswas will address scientists and researchers gathered in Mumbai for the 5th International Conference on Advances in Energy Research. A team of Washington University professors also will attend.

“Washington University in St. Louis has engaged in many fronts in its activities in India,” Biswas said. “One of our major partners is the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. The university is also networked with major corporations and other multinationals. Activities are wide ranged in areas of energy, environment and sustainability.”
