Global MedPrep Scholars Program – Shanghai

globe_-_asia_1While medical schools demand a strong undergraduate performance in BCPM courses (Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Math), they are also increasingly asking for something more. Some strongly encourage knowledge of a modern foreign language, noting even that they are specifically looking for those with knowledge in Spanish or Asian languages. Others are looking for not only language skills but those with substantial experience in another country or culture.

Washington University in St. Louis now offers a program tailored for undergraduate students interested in global health and international health care delivery – the Global MedPrep Scholars Program. In this program students have the opportunity to spend the fall semester of their sophomore, junior, or senior year in Shanghai, China’s largest city and one of the world’s greatest cultural and financial centers.
