For the Sake of All, a Washington University in St. Louis-based initiative to improve health equity for African-Americans in the St. Louis region, has received a $1.1 million grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The grant will support research and development of a “toolkit” for the implementation of programs and strategies to create inclusive, healthy school environments within St. Louis Public Schools and the Normandy Schools Collaborative.
“This is a unique opportunity to work with our local education partners and their many supporters to develop a healthy schools implementation model that could be replicated in other schools both locally and nationally,”
said Jason Purnell, associate professor at the Brown School and director of For the Sake of All.
