There were a range of career paths represented during the ceremony, and the graduate Scholars had the opportunity to share their experience as a McDonnell Scholar while attending Washington University.

In addition to academic talent, the Academy looks for Scholars who have an interest in broader social and cultural issues. Once they are members of the Academy, they are provided with opportunities to develop leadership skills. McDonnell Academy Scholars are Scholars for Life.
