Twenty-four McDonnell scholars visited New York City during the week of March 7th with Chancellor Mark Wrighton, Trustee John F. McDonnell and Academy Director James V. Wertsch. During their visit to New York to experience American culture and business, the scholars met with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Council on Foreign Relations president Dr. Richard Haass. On Wednesday, March 10th, the scholars visited the New York Stock Exchange and were present when the Opening Bell rang to start the trading day. Visits were also made to Bloomberg LP, Gracie Mansion and the Museum of Modern Art.
